(Special Crspdt NZ.P.AJ ' (Rec. 8 p.m > LONDON. April 27. The wedding of a girl from the Shell company and a man from the rival Imperial Chemical Industries can now go on—and with their firms’ blessing. Isobel Chester, aged 22. a trainee chemist at Shell, has been told she can stay with' the company after her marriage in July. A month ago. Miss Chester was asked to, resign.
Her employers said that her marriage to 24-year-old Michael Hinds, who is employed by 1.C.1., could “lead to an embarrassing situation” for the couple and j for their employers. An 1.C.1. spokesman, how-'; ever, said there was abso-1 lutely nothing that they could' conceivably object to in the' marriage. Now Shell has decided, too. that there is I nothing to stand in the way| of the marriage—and what is more, the company is moving Miss Chesser to its works ' near Manchester Her fiance works in Manchester.
