Old Folks’ Function

Mr H. J. Walker, member of Parliament for St Albans, was guest of honour at a recent social function and oldtime dance held by the Christchurch Old Folks and Bene/fr-taries’, Association. Mr Walker promised to do all he could to assist in relieving the overcrowded conditions at the club rooms.

He was welcomed by the senior vice-president (Mr H. Gracie). Items were given by the Te Wai Pounamu concert group. Mr Ron Moore (piano-accordion), and Mr Paddy Egan (vocal). The Merry-makers' Band played for the dancing.
