CURRENT NOTE

Travel Club,— “Life in the Lion City” was the subject of a talk by Mr C. H. Cook, at a meeting of the Canterbury Travel Club yesterday. Mr Cook described life in Singapore in all its varied aspects. Vocal items were given by Mrs Joan Ebert, accompanied by Mrs Joan Davies. Mrs R. Drayton welcomed members and guests who included the following:—Mesdames J. J. Gee (Southland), A. Robgrts (Northland), A. L. Vickerman, C. H. Cook, and Miss Doris Latham (England). The following new members were also welcomed, Mesdames G. Hamilton, L. W. Robinson, E. P. Genn and A. G. McLeod. Mrs C. Shaw thanked the speaker and artists. The president (Sir Joseph Ward) presided.
