COMPENSATION CLAIM
Ruling Sought On Basis Of Payment IN Z Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 26. The hearing before the Full Court of the claim for compensation by the Devonport Steam Ferry Company as a result of the opening of the Auckland harbour bridge, which began on Monday, was continued today. The Court comprises the Chief Justice (Sir Harold Barrowclough), Mr Justice Hutchinson and Mr Justice Haslam. Mr L. P. Leary, Q.C., with , him Mr T. N. Holmden, is appearing for the Auckland Harbour Bridge Authority, Mr B. H. Kingston, with him Mr P. G. Hillyer, for the ; Ferry Company, and Mr R. S. McElroy for the North ' Shore Bus Company which • purchased the Ferry Company’s assets. The hearing is by way of a I case stated by the Ferry Com- ! pensation Commissioner (Mr ;S. L. Paterson), who was ’ appointed under the Auckland i Harbour Bridge Act, 1950, to • determine the compensation ’ payable.
