Dachshund Club Show
The first championship show of the Dachshund Club was held in Wellington on Saturday. Mr J. Berland. of Christchurch, judged the 81 entries.
Best-in-the-show award was won by the Christchurch exhibitors, F. A. Gleeson and Mrs Gleeson with their smooth - coated standard dachshund, Black Bess of High Veldt. Reserve to best in the show was H. R. Hatcher’s miniature long-haired Grenveldt Call Girl, which was also best puppy in the show. Mrs K. Bank's Darley von Prieson was runner-up to the best puppy. Challenge winners were:
Miniature. —Smooth: H. R. Hatcher’s champion Annesley Stella Maris. Long-haired: G H. Hunt's Reno Roa of Atapo. H. R. Hatcher's Grenveldt Call Girl.
Standard.—Long - haired: Mrs K. C. Campbell s champion Chancellor Mischief. Smooth: Mrs K. Bank’s Darnley von Prieson, F. A. Gleeson and Mrs Gleeson’s Black Bess of High Veldt.
