NEW LIBRARY FOR BURWOOD.—Tenders will probably be called this year for a new library to be built on New Brighton road. The perspective sketch above shows the building. which has been designed by the city architect (Mr A. K. Allison). The brick veneer building will have a floor area of abort 2000sq ft, and is expected to cost abort £10,000. The adults' library will have an area of about 36ft by 28ft, and there will be a children’s library of 21ft by 24ft and a committee workroom. The library win be run by a local committee, with assistance from the Canterbury Public Library.
