TOWN HALL FUNDS
There was no substantial change in the finances of the organisation since December, when the total funds, including unredeemed promises, reached £100.027, said Mr H. G. Hay, chairman of the finance sub-committee, at a meeting of Town Hall Promotion’s general committee last evening. Mr Hay said the total investments now stood at £92.484. with cash in the bank of £1226. “We have received £l4OO in interest on our deposits, and assuming a conservatively estimated figure of £7OOO in unredeemed promises, we now have about £100.805.” There was still work to be done in realising the outstanding promises, said Mr Hav The finance committee had discussed ways and means, but after considering that some firms were not yet in the position to make payment, was quite confident that the money would be forthcoming. “Our investments are now producing fairly substantial interest—in the last three months we received more than £1000.” The chairman (Mr C. L. Martin): In 14 years our money will be doubled at that rate.
Mr Hay: Well, let’s just hope that the cost of building hasn’t treble Hv then.
