BURNSIDE ROLL

300 Intake Expected The Burnside High School expects a roll of about 770 in its third year in 1962. There are indications there will be an intake of 300 new pupils. “It will be a tight squeeze and we really need another four rooms at least,” said the headmaster (Mr C. Cross) to the board of governors yesterday. The secretary (Mr P. J. Halligan) said that, on longrange plans, more accommodation would be provided, but nothing definite could be said until the Budget was out. If extensions were approved. he feared extra rooms would not be ready until the end of the first term next year. The board went into committee to consider representations for urgency.
