Skelton has been engaged to ride Pitch in the Inglewood Hack Handicap, and A. J. Stokes will ride the other stable representative, Payout. No rider had been engaged yesterday for Hopeful, a winner against the open sprinters at Nelson. Ride ea Gabbier W. D. Skelton, who won on Pitch on Monday, will ride the Waimate-trained Gabbler in the Inglewood Handicap. Gabbler will be having his first race since he has been trained by P. H. R. Andrews. He did his earlier racing for Mr H. D. Greenwood, and from K. J. Thomson’s Riccarton stable. W. D. Skelton will ride John Jameson in the Ronald Macdonald Handicap, the second leg of the North Canterbury club’s double.
