FUTURE OF WOOL
Importance Of Research (N.Z. Press Assa.—Copvr*oht) SYDNEY, April 26. Increased prosnotion and research was more Ifikely to assure the future of the wool industy than any other factor. the president of the British Wool Federation (Mr W. T. Hunter) told toe wool marketing committee of inquiry today. Mr Hunter, with the secretary of the federation (Mr E. Barlow) flew from Britain to appear at the inquiry. "There is a great need for a more intensive and progressive promotion drive in consumer countries." he said. "Large-scale advertising of man-made fibres has made the efforts to promote wool seem very small ” Mr Hunter said that he had not often heard of price fluctuations in wool, causing British mills to use mom synthetic fibres; but he was alarmed by tha increasing quantity of man-made fibres being used.
