Woolsms (Auckland), moving a remit on immigration at the annual conference of the Asaociated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand . V'i ‘- The remit urged the Government to maintain' its assisted immigration programme at a maximum figure consistent with the abaorotive capacity, of industry and the capital resources of the country. An amendment moved by Mr J. R. Gaynor (Hutt Valley > added to the original motion, “That a special committee of Associated Chambers of Commerce, with the power to co-opt. be set up to study the whole situation.”
