Orchestral Society Concert

A programme including a Concerto Grosso by Handel and Schubert’s Symphony No. 5 in B flat wil Ibe presented by the Christchurch Orchestral Society in a concert in the University of Canterbury hall next Sunday afternoon. Stephen Delany will conduct the programme. The pianist Quentin Gainsway will play Mozart’s Sonata in C. K. 309, and Liszt’s Rhapsodie in D-flat. The membership of the orchestra is now 35, seven of whom also play in the National Yquth Orchestra. The leader, Miss Marjorie Dumbleton is also a member of the John Ritchie orchestra.
