Art Exhibition
Sir—“M.C.” is to be pitied if she feels that a picture has little merit unless deep thought is required to decipher its meaning. At the same time “D.A.H.” is wrong in not making use of her eyesight when looking at an abstract picture. If she saw the cartoon by Franklin Folger in “The Press” of April 17 shff would realise that she, too, might find just the right colour to paint her bathroom.—Yours, etc., JSC. April. 22. 1961. Sir, —I would suggest to the correspondents, who have ! bitterly criticised J.N.K.’s ex- ■ cellent article, that they reread what he had to say. To G. F. Hides I would suggest : that he ponder the advice ■ on “the mote in one's own eye.”—Yours, etc.. NO MORE HATE. April 24. 1961.
