RUDENESS AS AN ART.

Whenever, as it sotnetimes, muit, the list of topics on which people can write letters to the editor seems to be dwindling too much, someone tevrves the whole business with a sharp rebuke to the younger generation about rudeness. They talk of small boys who sit in buses -while women stand, and the lik% and wax quite eloquent. But sometimes oa a tour of the city it is easy to understand why the younger generation are ao rude. They have so very many examples from the adult world of almost inspired rudeness, practised by genuine expert*. There are the shop assistants who (in a man’s shop) scarcely conceal their mirth when a man in his forties asks tentatively and almost timidly about whether a certain size of suit would lit him.
