Fast Bowling In Nets (NX. Pres* _ LONDON. April 34. English cricket tens had their first taste of Australian bowling today when the Australian G. McKenzie turned on a dis£tey at speed in the net* at Until McKenzie bowled the practice session was a routine affair with none of the pace men extending themselves. The players had been at the nets tor just on two hours In their afternoon session when the captain, R. Benaud. told McKenzie to “send a couple down." At th* time McKenzie was bowling st about halfpace to B. Shnpgon, and the eye* of ISO spectator* were riveted on him a* he measured off hl* run tor the "quickies." When he bed recovered from the first ball, which rapped him on the pads and eaught him completely by surprise. Simpson went on batting in the same solid tom he had been showing. Benaud had Ms men at the nets for two hours this afternoon. All the players batted tor 30 minutes each.
