TWO POLIO CASES REPORTED

Two cases of poliomyelitis were reported in the Christchurch district last week. A few scattered cases occurred throughout New Zealand from time to time and there was nothing significant in the two Christchurch cases, said the District Medical Officer of Health (Dr. A. Douglas). Other notifiable disease cases reported by the Health Department in the Christchurch area were four of tuberculosis, two of pemphigus neonatorum, and one of erysipelas. There were two cases of tuberculosis and one case of puerperal sepsis in the Greymouth district.
