Sons Of Temperance Society
The national division of the Sons of Temperance Friendly Society met in Christchurch recently. The society’s highest award, the Patriarch’s Jewel, was presented to Mr H. M. Taylor, of Christchurch. Another award, the Gold Triangle, was presented to Mr C. P. Kendall, of Wanganui. Two other awards were made to members. Officers elected were:— Patriarchs, Messrs H. N. Taylor, W. A. Smith, and A. Rowlands; scribe, Mr H. M. Tomlinson; treasurer, Mr S. Bultitude; associate, Mr F. W. Hitchings; chaplain. Mr L. W. Claridge; conductor, Mr 3. R. Kiddey; sentinal, Mr M. R. James; trustees, Messrs A. F. Whisker, E. J. Kiddey, and W. A. Smith; by-laws committee, Messrs F. Bincliff. A. W. Whisker and C. W. Noakes: appeals committee, Messrs F. Billcliff, J. H. G. Shaw. W. L. Grenfell. R. Walker, and D F. Keir.
