MAGISTRATE’S COURT SATURDAY
(Before Mr O. C. Mitchell, J.P., and Mr R. J. Eyre, J.P.) REMANDED Niels Gade, aged 25, a turner, was remanded until today on a charge of deserting from the overseas ship Etna Fjell, at Wellington, on September 28, and of committing a breach of the Immigration Restrictions Act. Bail was allowed in the sum of £5O and one surety of £5O. William Mills, aged 28, a workman, charged with stealing £33 5s 9d, the property of Vincent Haveland Stephens and others at Ocean Beach. Southland, on April 2, was remanded till today. Bail was allowed in the sum of £5O and one surety of £5O. George Francis Williams, aged 18, a panel-beater, was remanded till today on a charge of stealing a dress-ring valued at 3s lid, the property of Woolworths (N.Z.), Ltd., on May 3. Bail was allowed in the sum of £5O and one surety of £5O.
