Further Id Rise In Lamb Prices

Lamb prices have been raised another Id per lb in the latest export meat schedule which comes into force today. Ewe prices arej also up nearly Id per lb. Prime! lightweight lamb is now worth 31d per lb, compared with this season’s opening price of 24|d,l and with 24Jd at the same time; last year.

Lamb rejects have been raised Jd per lb. and the shorn deductions Id per lb. Hogget and wether prices have been raised Ad per lb, but the increase is offset by an increase from jib to 11b in the basic wool! pull. The wool increment is raised from 5,d to fid for each ilb. The same alterations to the wool pull and the wool increments apply to ewes, but the price increase—l2d —more than offsets the effects of these. Today’s increases are the first changes in the hogget, wether and ewe prices since February 25.

. Prices for stock delivered to the nearest Marlborough, Canterbury, Otago, or Southland works are as follows, with the variation since the previous schedules:—

Hogget, wether, and ewe prices include 11b of wool, and vary (plus or minus) 6d a head for each Jib of wool over or under a lib wool pulling.
