ALL BLACK TEAM SELECTED
10 New Players In Side To Tour Australia (Hew Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 5. Ten new All Blacks are included in the New Zealand Rugby team to tour Australia. The team was announced by the national selectors (Messrs J. L. Sullivan, R. R. King and R. A. Everest) after the final trial games at Athletic Park yesterday. A. R. Reid (Waikato) has been appointed captain of the team and S. F. Hill (Canterbury’) vice-captain. The team will assemble at Auckland next Friday and will leave by air for Sydney’ next Sunday. Mr Everest and Mr W. A. Craddock will be co-” managers of the team.
The new players are: Watt (a reserve for the tests last year), McMullen, Lineen, Levien, Molloy, Soper (captain of the 1955 Colts team in Ceylon), Gillespie, Meads, Pickering and Whineray.
