Capping Magazine On Sale Today
Canterbury University College students have printed 30,000 copies of the capping magazine, which will be on sale today. The earliest sales of the magazines are likely to be on the arrival of the steamer express at Lyttelton and from 7 a.m. onwards 60 selling points in Christchurch will be continuously manned. Yesterday, parties of students went to the West Coast. Timaru, Ashburton, and Burnham, to make advance sales, and it is expected that total stocks will be exhausted by midday. The carnival spirit will carry over to this evening, when the students’ revue, “Up the Pole,” has its opening performance.
The profits of capping week, after the expense of the public efforts have been met, will be. allocated to a charity yet to be chosen.
The. collection during the students’ procession next Wednesday morning has already beenpromised to the IntellectuallyHandicapped Children’s Parents’ Association for the building project which the students have supported in the last two years.
