FORCED LANDING IN PADDOCK

Greymouth Pilot’s Action (New Zealand Press Association) JREYMOUTH, May 2. A student pilot made a forced landing in a farm paddock at Inchbonnie at dusk last evening. The pilot, Mr J. Woolaston, of Gieymouth, made the decision to land at Inchbonnie when flying conditions became unfavourable as the light began to fade. He had been bringing the plane, the Greymouth Aero Club’s Tiger Moth back from Timaru where a maintenance check had been carried out.

The emergency landing was made - bout 6.10 p.m. on the property of Mr P. K. Ryder. Apart from a few bumps the landing was successfully achieved.

The aircraft was cover’d and tied down for the night and was to be flown out to complete the journey to Greymouth today Early this afternoon, however, no attempt had been made to fly the plane out.
