£l000 Gift To Aged Persons
A gift of £lOOO has been made by Mr D. Spence, of Upper Riccarton, to the Christchurch Aged People’s Welfare Council. It will be added to a fund which was the result of an appeal to assist the promotion of occupational therapy among aged persons. Armagh Car Sales has responded to this appeal with a gift of a second-hand motor-car to transport an occupational therapist on her round of calls.
Although no direct appeal was made for money, cash donations of about £43 have been subscribed. /
Many persons backed the appeal by assisting aged persons with their therapy.
Tin Hat Club.—Mr D. W. Russell was re-elected president of the Tin Hat Club at the club’s annual meeting. Other officers elected were:—Vice-presidents, 12 were elected; secretary, Mr L. W. Menzies; treasurer, Mr H. Lattaway; executive, Messrs R. A. Robertson, J. N. Crawford, H. J. Walker, R. A. Murie, L. J. Pavletich, F. Quann, F. G. McKay, A. Winchester, 1 M. W. Harknass.
