University Planning
The Professorial Board has been invited by the Canterbury University College Council to report on new developments for which finance might be sought - in the next quinquennial allocation of the University Grants Committee. The rector (Dr. F. J. Llewellyn) said the council had earlier heard suggestions for a separate department of political science, the division of the modern languages department, a new department of nuclear engineering, and conservatorium training in music. Colleges were now invited to make firm proposals to the University of New Zealand.
