Soccer INTERNATIONAL TOURS
Arrangements For Visits To N.Z. (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 30. Preliminary arrangements for two international Soccer tours of New Zealand this winter were completed tonight by the New Zealand Football Association. An Austrian team will play six matches between July 24 and August 10, and a Hong Kong Chinese team will play eight matches between June 5 and July 2. The secretary of the New Zealand association (Mr W. J. Arcus) said today that all three parties concerned firmly understood that both tours were on. Some doubt arose whether the Austrians would still come when it became unlikely that they would tour Australia on the same trip. But when asked if this was so, the Football Club of Austria replied that the New Zealand tour was definitely on. The Hungarian team which may tour Australia this winter and inquired about the possibility of playing three matches in New Zealand, has not yet replied to a request from the New Zealand association for the date of its proposed visit. The match venues for the other two tours are:— Chinese.—June 8, Christchurch; June 12, Invercargill; June 15. Dunedin, June 18, Nelson: June 20, Palmerston North; June 22, Wellington; June 25, Gisborne; June 29. Auckland. Austrians. —July 24, Wellington; July 27, Auckland: July 31. Christchurch; August 3, Wellington; August 7. Wanganui; August 10, Auckland.
