RESERVE BANK RETURN
State Repays £3om Of Borrowings
The State repaid the Reserve Bank £3om in the week ended April 10. This is shown in the latest return from the bank, which shows deposits by the State £31.5m lower than on April 3. and non-marketing advances to the State £3om lower. The latest figure for these advances is £2om, which is £ 30.3 m below the figure a year earlier. “Other advances’’ fell £l.3m to £3.Bm, as a result of the repayment by France of part of the £sm advanced for wool purchases some years ago.
