West Indies To Open Tour Today

The West Indies cricketers will be without one of their great batting trio, Everton Weekes, when they open their first-class tour against Worcestershire at Worcester on Wednesday. Weekes has a cold. Others missing from the team are Sonny Ramadhin, the right-arm spinner, and the two young pace bowlers,, Roy Gilchrist and Wesley Hall. The West Indies team is: N. Asgarali, A. G. Ganteaume. C. L. Walcott. F. M. Worrell, G. Sobers, D. Atkinson, O. G. Smith, J. D. Goddard (captain), F. C. M. Alexander (wicket-keeper), D. T. Dewdney, A. L. Valentine. Worcestershire’s team is: D. Kenyon, P. E. Richardson (captain), L. Outschoorn, D. W. Richardson, G. Dews, M. J. Horton, R. O. Jenkins, R. Booth, R. Berry, J. Flavell, J. Aldridge.
