£1514 THEFT BY SOLICITOR
Sentence Of Two Years’ Gaol (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 30. “There is no profession from which the public is entitled to expect integrity more than that of a solicitor,” said Mr J. R. Drummond, S.M., in the Lower Hutt Magistrate’s Court today. He was sentencing David McClelland Dickson, aged 53, a solicitor and now a storeman, to two years’ imprisonment on each of five charges of theft, totalling ‘£1514 9s 9d, from his clients. The terms are to be concurrent. Counsel for the accused, Mr A. J, Mazengarb, submitted that Dickson had made full restitution and nobody had suffered because of his offences.
