There was a 5 field of 45 pairs, all North Islanders • except one pair from Christchurch—--5 Miss K. Rutherford and Miss W. > Morgan. The lowest handicap players who . survived the first round were Mess dames McDiarmid (4) and Glanville (5), of Hamilton, Mesdames Car- , ruthers (4) and Carnachan (5), qf ; Tauranga, Mesdames Munro (6) and Howcroft (8), of Te Awamutu, Mesdames S.
