Light Nurse Unlucky Light Nurse paced an outstanding race to finish third in the Flying Handicap at Forbury Park. She was a little slow early, but soon began to improve her position. However, she met trouble at the end of just more than a furlong, and was chopped back to the rear in a strung-out field. She put in a tremendous run over the last five furlongs, and did well to finish so close up. Better served in the running at her next appearance, she should make amends.

Showed Speed Garadale showed plenty of speed but little stamina in the Bayfield Handicap at Forbury Park. The Sandydale gelding, a brother to a useful winner in Beechdale Queen, went away to a big lead with Serenelli in the middle stages of the race, but tired at the end of one mile and a quarter. Even so he battled on for second. Garadale has not had much race experience. and he may become more solid with age. He has a splendid style of trotting, and he should soon win again.
