Council Of Adult Education

The Canterbury University College Council yesterday approved a constitution for the Regional Council of Adult Education. It had not previously exercised this requirement of the new act. The only changes from the existing composition of the Regional Council of Adult Education are provision for each major area in tKe adult education district to have representation, and for one additional lumber to be co-opted on an annual basis if desired. South Canterbury ■at present has two group representatives, but when one of these retires it is intended that that area and others should have one each. South Canterbury is at present the only area so organised. The composition of the Regional Council will therefore be: Canterbury University College Council, three (including one nominated by the Professorial Board); Canterbury Federation of Women's Institutes, one; Womens Division of Federated Farmers, one; W.E.A. District Council, three; district groups, one each; ex officio, the Rector of Canterbury College and the Director of Adult Education; co-opted, one nominated at the discretion of the Regional Council. -
