Athletics World Pole Vault Record Set
(N.Z. Press Association Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) PALA ALTO (California). Apr. 27. Bob Gutowski, of the United States, today beat the world record for the pole vault by half an inch when he jumped 15ft 81in. The record of 15ft 7%in was set by C. Warmerdam, of the United States, on May 23, 1942. at Modesto. California.
