FLOYD, Secretary. 5723 TRANSPORT ACT, 1949. THE Commissioner of Transport has ratified an agreement between the N.Z. Road. Transport Alliance, Inc., and the Federated Farmers of N.Z., Inc., the N.Z. Fruitgrowers Federation, Inc., and the Dominion Council of Commercial Gardeners, Ltd., for a 14 per cent, reduction; effective May 1, 1957, on maximum and minimum or fixed rates in: (a) All area and route rates schedules excluding Southern Hawke’s Bay, Northern and Southern Central Otago Schedules and the general schedule for Taranaki; and excepting schedules applicable to town cartage only. (b) Rural cartage rates attached as conditions to individual licences. Existing contracts and rates on services operated by the Hon. Minister of Railways and local bodies are excluded from this decrease. The full decision may be inspected at Christchurch, Nelson, Greymouth, Umaru. Any appeal must be lodged with the Secretary.
