Chinese Moved In South Africa

The South African Minister of Native Affairs <Dr. H. F. Verwoerd) said in the House of Assembly today that 69 Chinese families in a buffer zone or ‘‘no man’s land” between “white” and
“native” areas at Sophiatown, a Johannesburg suburb, had been moved to ''another nearby area. Replying to a question. Dr. Verwoerd said that the Native Resettlement Board had served 14 notices involving 70 Chinese families to vacate premises.
