Oram Avenue
Sir,—Further to my letter on the City Council’s parking proposal in Oram avenue and the Town Clerk’s remarks thereon, may I add that residents of Oram avenue have communicated with two Citizens’ Association councillors on the subject and have been informed the parking is to be proceeded with, but should residents still object, then the city authorities most probably, could then reconsider the matter and recast the scheme. If that is the guiding principle of the civic planners and care of ratepayers’ money, I suggest some close attention could be paid to this matter in the interests of ratepayers generally.—Yours, etc., J. D. BURNS. April 26, 1957.
