The new Strawberry Talisman, was " introduced by the Scottish Horticultural Research Institute in 1955. It has been under trial since Its discovery in 1946 and has cropped ® heavily every year. Consistency of cropping is a very important factor to consider in selecting a seedling for development since very many seedlings are found to be so selective in their environmental requirements that they become intermittent croppers, a weakness not at all uncommon among varieties which reach commerce. I- In comparison with Auchincruive Climax grown under similar conditions, yields have invariably been heavier. Talisman has everything—everything the home gardener and commercial grower demand in an all purpose strawberry. Large red rich berries, chock-full of real honeysweet goodness. The texture is firm and the fruit stands up well tc transport. Under jam-making tests the fruit was reported to be tender iy of good appearance with colou: deeper red than in Climax and flavour excellent. Talisman is disease resistant. Plantoffering have been Government inspected and are from maiden stock SELECTED PLANTS—7s 6d Dozen 3 Dozen for 20s. Post Free. JEMMETTS NOVELTY PLANT SPECIALISTS, P.O.
