Paul identifies the personage In Rom. 4:13, “For the Promise that he should be the' heir of the world was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.” The account of that grand man of faith. Abraham, is found in Genesis from chapter 11 to chapter 25. It portrays the calling of God, drawing him from Ur of the Chaldees and Babylonia to serve the God of Heaven. Formerly an idolater Abraham heeded the message to go out from the land of his nativity and kindred and moved to a land he is yet to receive as an age lasting inheritance. Outstanding are the promises God made, the faith and obedience of Abram and the far reaching effects of the promise. Scripture shows that those who are faithful as was Abraham will be blessed along with him. So it is written. Rom. 4:22, 24. “It was imputed to Abraham for Righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone—but for us also it shall be imputed if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead.” Such as follow Abraham are strong in faith, giving glory to God in believing His promises and accepting His Precepts.
