A cyclist died after a collision with a truck at the corner of Helmores lane and Harper avenue on April 9. A motorist died after his car collided with a power pole in Riccarton road on April 10. Five days later, on April 15, a woman cyclist was killed in a collision with a truck at the corner of Latimer square and Hereford street. A cyclist died after a collision with a car at the intersection of Yaldhurst and Avonhead roads on April 18. On April 19 a man was killed in a collision between two cars at the corner of Bethels and Seiwyn roads near the Burnham Military Camp.
