£4l0 STOLEN FROM CARAVAN
Police Arrest Man In Auckland
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 26.
A man was arrested in Auckland tonight and charged with the theft of £4lO in silver from a caravan atl the Epsom showgrounds. The police have recovered about £2OO of the stolen money. The accused is one of two men who failed to appear in the Auckland Magistrate’s Court on April 17 to face a charge of car conversion. Since the arrest, an intensified search has begun for the other man. As it is now believed that two men were involved in the theft of the money, the police think he may have the remainder of the booty. Both the arrested man and his suspected accomplice are Australians.
The arrested man will appear in the Auckland Magistrate’s Court tomorrow on charges of stealing the £4lO and of failing to appear in Court under the terms of his bail.
