Referees For Trial Games
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 26. The New Zealand Rugby Union has appointed the referees, for this season’s trials. Mr W. Fright (Canterbury) will referee the final trial at Athletic Park, Wellington. The appointments are:—April 30, South Island trial, at Christchurch: Mr I. L. Armishaw (South Canterbury): May 1, North Island trials, at Palmerston North, 1 p.m., Mr D. Hancox (Wellington): 2.30 p.m., Mr H. McNeill (Hawke’s Bay); May 4, New Zealand trials, at Wellington: 1 p.m., Mr N. Sciascia (Horowhenua); 3 p.m., Mr W. Fright (Canterbury). G. P. Nola, the Waikato loose forward, whose Inclusion in the North Island Rugby trials came as a surprise, following the announcement last season of his retirement, has had to’withdraw, due to an injury. His place will be taken by J. B. Darragh (Thames Valley).
