“Totalitarian” Party

(Rec. 8 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 26. The general secretary of the Democratic Labour Party, Mr J. T. Kane, said today the expulsion of Mr Gair emphasised the development of totalitarianism in the “Evatt party.” “This action is frightening,” he said. “But, when one considers the recent decision of the Federally-appointed New South Wales executive to instruct the Government of this State on all legislative measures, it becomes a matter of grave concern which cannot be tolerated by any Australians who cherish freedom and democracy.”
