CONFERENCE ON IRRIGATION

N.Z. Representative To Go To U.S. (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 25. For the first time, New Zealand is to send a representative to the congress of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage. He is Mr I. W. McKinnon, inspecting engineer at the Ministry of Works head office, Wellington. Mr McKinnon, an experienced irrigation engineer, will leave Auckland tomorrow for San Francisco, where the conference will be held. The Minister of Works (Mr W. S. Goosman) said that the congress would discuss problems of very great concern to New Zealand, particularly in developing irrigation works in Central Otago and Canterbury.
