dominations By Board As an experiment in the next 12 months, deputy-medical superintendents at country hospitals were nominated on Wednesday by the North Canterbury Hospital Board. Having re-examined all aspects of the proposal for country medical subsidies, including a roster system for medical and administrative responsibility at the hospitals, the hospital committee recommended that the status quo be maintained for the next 12 months but that in the meantime a doctor in each district should be nominated as a deputy-medical superintendent, there to be no alteration in remuneration. Nominations were: Akaroa, Dr. A. H. Stewart: Amuri, Dr. W J Dickel; Darfield, Dr. J. W. AveryEUesmere, Dr. W. G. Volckman; Kaiapoi, Dr. C. F. McKee; Kaikoura, Dr. G. P. Gordon; Rangiora Dr. L. H. King; Oxford, Dr. H. J. Knight; Waikari, Dr. A. H. Meikleham; Cheviot, Dr. K. N. Nicholas; Lyttelton, Dr. P. A Heath.
