NEW CITY STREET NAMEPLATES
Consideration By Council New street nameplates for Christchurch, including reflecting nameplates, are being sought by the City Council, which has called tenders for a variety of styles. The works committee is considering the whole project, and the council will have to decide the type of signs to be erected. A contract is to be let for 1000 new nameplates. Specifications for the tenders invite quotations from a considerable range of plates. The main difference from the past is that the plates are to be of metal. Lettering on the new plates is t° be.3|in high. Some will be required to show the run of street numbers. Generally, the plates are to be fully lettered on both sides, and generally the plates will jut horizontally from the posts.
