Message From The Queen
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND,'ApriI 25. His Excellency, the GovernorGeneral has received the following telegram from the Queen: "On Anzac Day, I join with my people in the Commonwealth of Australia and New Zealand • in remembrance of those Australians and New Zealanders who laid down their lives ; n battle. Their courage and faithful resolution in times of national danger are ever a glorious memory. Elizabeth R.” His Excellency has sent the following reply to her Majesty: “Your Majesty’s gracious message has been communicated to the Government and the people of New Zealand, who deeply appreciate your Majesty’s association with them in their observance of Anzac Day. “On their behalf, I respectfully beg to tender, with humble duty, a renewed assurance of their abiding loyalty and devotion to your Majesty and the Throne.”
