£400 IN SILVER STOLEN

Showman’s Loss In Auckland

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 23. About £4OO in silver was stolen from a showman’s caravan in the Epsom show grounds about 8.30 p.m. today. The theft was discovered at 8.4(b p.m. by the owner of the caravan, Mr V. Labb, of Wellington, who had left his takings unattended for about 20 minutes. Traffic Officer J. Carpenter, of Mount Albert, saw two men walk out the main gates of the grounds about 8.30 p.m. carrying between them a heavy overnight bag. He saw them hail a taxi and drive off.

About 10.30 p.m. two men attending a dance in Auckland were interviewed by the police.
