Maori Folk Song Recordings
Maori folk songs recorded in Wanganui will be forwarded to London for study by the London International Choir. The songs may eventually be broadcast on the 8.8. C. Pacific service. The Rev. K. M. Ihaka, conductor of the Putiki Maori Club Choir, has been asked by Mr Malcolm F. Grey, formerly of Marton, for recordings and sheet music for the International Choir. Conducted by Dr. Paul Steinitz, the choir specialises in folk music, and recently broadcast some Aide** folk songs.
