Piping And Dancing Results (From Our Own Reporter) TIMARU, April 23. Ten A grade pipers competed in the piping section of the piping and dancing events held at the Mackenzie Highland Show at Fairlie on Monday. This is the largest entry of pipers at a South Island show. The dancing section, however, was not strongly supported. The judges were Mrs E. Ritchie, Waimate (dancing), and Mr J. Campbell, Oamaru (piping). Results were (competitors from Timaru unless otherwise stated):— Highland Fling, under 12, novice.— Janice Moore, 58 points. 1; Joan Parker, Fairlie. 57, 2; Judith Logan. Kingsdown, 56, 3. Sword Dance, under 12.—Janice Jager, 65 points, 1; Sheryl Jones, 61, 2; Janet Loney, 60, 3. Seann Triubhais. under 14 (South Canterbury Championship).—Barbara Jones, 76 points, 1; Pauline Black, 73. 2; Sandra Mitchell. 68, 3. Pipe Marches, C Grade.—B. Barr, Christchurch. 80 points, 1; L. McLachlan. Rakaia, 77. 2: A. Fitzgibbon, Methven. and A. Porteous, Dunedin. 76 (equal) 3. Pip? Marches, A grade.—J. McKinnon, 93 points. 1; D. Cormack, 92. 2; D Bain (Ashburton), 91J, 3.
