MIDLAND BUS FARE CHANGE

Permission to increase minimum cash fares from 4d to 6d has been granted to Midland Motorways; Ltd., by the Commissioner of Transport (Mr H. B. Smith). Minimum fares for children, formerly 2d, are now 3d. Pram and pushchair carriage charges have been increased by 2d to 6d. Although the decision applies to all local services to Kaiapoi, Rangiora, Waikuku Beach, Kairaki Beach, Brooklands, Tai Tapu, and Harewood airport, it will affect only a few sections. Most onesection fares are already 3d and 6d. Any appeal against the decision must be lodged with the secretary, Transport Charges Appeal Authority, P.O. Box 6107, Wellington. _on or before May 14. The decision does not apply to the section from Kaiapoi Mill to Kaiapoi.
