DECISION IN DUNEDIN

Workers at the Dunedin milk treatment station decided today not to follow instructions of the union national executive to refuse Friday work from next Friday The following' statement was supplied: “Because of the direction of the local members of the New Zealand Dairy Workers’ Union by their executive to refuse work on- Friday, April 26, a meeting was held this morning and, as a result of a secret ballot: it was decided by a large majority to ignore the direction of the national executive. “This attitude was adopted by
the local members of the milk treatment station in view of the unorthodox procedure of the national executive in calling for a refusal of work without first having taken a ballot of all members in the New Zealand union,” said the statement.
